1924-2010 - Bay du Vin - Walter Archibald Williston, husband of Anna G. Williston, of Route 117, Bay du Vin, passed away suddenly at his residence, on Friday, July 9, 2010, at the age of 86.
Born in Bay du Vin, on March 16, 1924, he was the son of the late George W. R. and Mary A. (Pleadwell) Williston. He was a fisherman and farmer by occupation and a survivor of the Escuminac Fishing Disaster. He attended St. Michaels By The Sea Roman Catholic Church, Miramichi Bay.
He is survived by his wife, the former Anna G. Hallihan; four daughters, Glenna Barry, of Truro, N.S., Geneva Graham (Dave), of Kingston, Ont., Irene Wilson (Jim), of Saint John, Bernita Williston, of Palm Springs, California; one son, Kenneth Williston (Lynn), of Bay du Vin; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one infant son, Shawn Walter Williston; one son in law, Carl Barry; three sisters, Helen McLeod, Georgina Cortes, Catherine Graham; three brothers, Everett, Andrew and Charles Williston.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Sunday evening, from 7 to 9 pm and Monday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Michaels By The Sea Roman Catholic Church, Miramichi Bay, on Tuesday, at 2 pm, conducted by Father Claude Daigle. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Please note, vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home on Monday evening, at 7 pm.
