It is with deep sadness that we, the family, announce the peaceful death of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, James Edmund Gough on Sunday, July 11, 2010.
Jim was the son of the late James and Lavinia (Hamlet) Gough and stepmother, Barbara (Doyle) Gough from East Bay, Cape Breton. Jim was born November 3, 1937 in Geraldton, Ont. Jim worked throughout Canada in mining and farming and has been a local resident of Lower South River since 1973.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Angela (Brace) Gough and children, Marina (Jody) Gillis, James (Hanoi) Gough, Patrick Gough, Lavinia (Robert) Carreau, John-Henry Gough and 10 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Patrick Gough and eight sisters, Dorothy Robbins, Catherine (Dougie) MacArthur, Martha (Gary) Hood, Stella (Tony) MacPhee, Theresa (Bernie) Janega, Cecilia (Peter) Rossetti, Maureen (Sony) MacLeod and Viola (Ivan) Doncaster; uncle, Gerald (Hedy) Gough, B.C. and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, July 13, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Mac Isaac's Funeral Home, Antigonish, funeral officiated by Fr. Charles Cameron Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 11 a.m., St. Andrew's Church, St. Andrews.
Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
