Paul R. Crosthwaite, 69, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital on Tuesday, July 13, 2010. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Samuel and Winnie (Steeves) Crosthwaite. Paul was retired from Midland Transport with 22 years service (Dispatcher) and was a member of Hillside Baptist Church where he served his church on various committees and positions. He was a long time member of the Burbank Band and the Men's Gospel Choral Group. Paul formerly served on the Credit Union Board, was a former minor and recreational hockey referee and a soloist at many weddings and funerals in past years. He enjoyed spending precious time with his family, ice skating, snowmobiling, travelling, family get togethers and picnics and was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan.
Paul will be sadly missed by his wife of 16 years, Joan (Crawford) (Stuart) Crosthwaite; daughter, Lisa Gillies (Brent), Anagance; son, Stephen (Michele LeTain), Elgin; stepchildren, Valerie Colpitts (Robert), Upper Coverdale, Krista Stuart (Leroy Close), Riverview, Rick Stuart, Colpitts Settlement, Rhonda Vautour, Moncton; grandchildren, Tara, Kyle, Riley, Meaghan, Emily, Jessica, Melissa, Natasha; his pride and joy, great granddaughter, Alina; the mother of his children, Beulah Crosthwaite, Elgin; brother, Robert (Barbara), Ellsworth, Maine; two nephews, Todd and Andrew. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant sister, Judith Laura.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service, Hillside Baptist Church, Friday, July 16, 2010, 11:00 am, Rev. Gordon Horsman officiating. Reception in the Church Hall following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
