It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Art Ford, age 64, of Glace Bay. Art passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Edward 'Ned' and Helen (Whiting) Ford.
Art will be sadly missed by brothers, Jerry (Barb), Georgia, James, Boston, Archie (Kay), Hoyles (Girlie), Rocky (Thelma), Glenn (Linda), sisters, Frances (Bill), Delores (Mick), Alice (Jerry) - with whom he resided, sister-in-law, Mary, all of Glace Bay; and 40 nieces and nephews.
Art was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Daniel, Sid, Paul and sister-in-law, Rose.
Visitation for Art will be held Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. Cremation will follow. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Monday, July 26, 2010, in the funeral home chapel with Fr. Leo Boone officiating. Interment will be in St. Anne's Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the hospital staff at the ICU at both the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, and the Glace Bay Hospital, as well as the doctors who took such great care of Art.
