Cecil Francis Hennessey, 76, a resident of the Northside Community Guest Home, North Sydney, formerly of Crescent Street, Sydney Mines, passed away at the guest home on Tuesday, May 26, 2009.
Born in Sydney Mines, he was the son of the late Pius and Sadie (MacLean) Hennessey.
He is survived by his sisters, Helen (Ken) Matheson, Sydney Mines, with whom he resided for 30 years, Sarah Walsh and Christine (Russell) Bateman, North Sydney and Bernadette, Sydney; his brothers, Tom, North Sydney and Edward, Georges River and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Theresa and Lorraine and his brothers, Adrian, Pius, Patrick, Stan, Charles and Richard.
There will be no visitation, Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. Hughie MacNeil officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction and guidance of Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.
