It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, uncle and friend.
Reginald Joseph Laffin passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at the Northside General Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born in Bras d'Or, he was the son of the late William and Rose (Matheau) Laffin.
He resided in Bras d'Or most of his life and spent the last few years in North Sydney.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving overseas for three years.
He is survived by his sisters, Loraine (Nathan) McNeil and Beverly Bungay (Lawrence), both of Alder Point; many nieces and nephews; his friend, Liz Axworthy; and special nephew, Billy (Ann) Bungay, Pictou.
He was predeceased by his brother, Roger, his sisters, Ester, Yvonne and Elenor.
There will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.
The family of Reg extends a special thank-you to Dr. Naeem and the wonderful nurses and staff at the Northside General Hospital for their care and support.
