It is with sadness we announce the passing of DOROTHY MARY DRYSDALE on Monday, August 16, 2010. Dot was born on August 13, 1929 to William and Belle (Coates) Holderbein on the Coates Homestead south of Morse, Saskatchewan. She received her schooling at Yorkshire School and went on to attend Normal School in Moose Jaw. Dot taught school at Yorkshire School (1950 - 1951), and then taught in Herbert for eight years. She married James Lloyd Drysdale on July 25, 1959. They settled in the Morse area where they raised two sons, Ken and Lyle. Dot moved to Moose Jaw following the death of her husband and enjoyed gardening, reading, and visiting. In February 2007, health issues prompted a move to Coteau Range Manor in Avonlea. In June 2008, Dot moved to the St. Anthony's Wing at Providence Place. She was predeceased by her husband, Jim in 1989, her parents, William and Belle Holderbein, niece, Sherelyn Holderbein; in-laws: Hugh & Jean Drysdale, Bob & Anne Drysdale, and Marjorie Drysdale. She is lovingly remembered by her sons: Ken (Linda) of the Caron District and Lyle of Saskatoon; three grandchildren: Marshall, Chantal (Ryan) of Moose Jaw, and Jason (Jordan) of Calgary, and two great-grandsons: Tyson and Cooper of Moose Jaw. She will also be missed by her brother, Herb (Ethel) Holderbein of Swift Current; brother-in-law, Grant Drysdale of Regina, sister-in-law, Marion (Lyle) Trenholm of Naponee, ON; nieces: Luetta, Darlene, Gloria, Marlene, Janice, Donna and their families; nephews: Bob, Brian, Don, Randy and their families, as well as numerous cousins and friends. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Marvin Seaborg officiating in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Interment will take place at a later time in the Morse Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dot's memory may be made to the Providence Place Healing Garden, 100 - 2nd Ave. N.E., Moose Jaw, S6H 1B8 or to a charity of one's choice.
