Doreen May (Mahar) Boudreau - The death of Doreen Boudreau of Quispamsis, NB, wife of the late Eric J. Boudreau occurred Thursday, August 19th, 2010, at her residence. Born on December 2nd, 1927 in Sturgeon, PEI, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Pearl (Sorrie) Mahar. Doreen and her late husband, Eric relocated to Quispamsis in the early 1960's and set about the business of raising their family. A spiritual woman, she became a faithful member of St. Mark's Parish. Doreen was a devoted family woman. She dedicated her life to caring for those she loved. She cherished her time spent with family; adored her children and dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Doreen will be sadly missed by her family and friends and will always be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Doreen is survived by three daughters, Geri Herrington (Jim) of Saint John West, Joan Steele (Mike) of Nauwigewauk and Brenda Chisholm (Ronald) of Antigonish, NS; two sons, Eric T. Boudreau of Quispamsis and Brian Boudreau (Theresa) of Hampton; two sisters, Theresa O'Connor and Beverly Macbeth (Brian), both of PEI; one brother, Emile Mahar (Joan) of PEI; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Doreen was predeceased by one sister, Gladys and three brothers, Lawrence, Francis and Oscar.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506)849-2119 with visitation Sunday from 7-9 PM. Vigil Prayers will be held Sunday at 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Mark's Catholic Church, 171 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, on Monday, August 23rd, 2010 at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens, Saint John. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Diabetes Association or to a charity of the donor's choice.
