Clara Elizabeth Harris (nee Andreas)

Clara passed away at Pioneer Lodge after a hard fought struggle with cancer. Clara was born at Herbert, Sask and at an early age moved with her parents to Neidpath, Sask. In 1940 she moved to Swift Current, graduated from Swift Current Collegiate Institute, following which she was employed as a bookkeeper. Clara married Tom Harris in June 1951. In 1959 Tom and Clara moved to Moose Jaw where they owned and operated Harris Refrigeration Service until March 1983. She was then employed part-time at Moose Jaw Police Services. Clara was a past member of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society Auxiliary, Moose Jaw Two Way Radio Club and the Moose Jaw Camping Club. Clara was predeceased by her parents Peter and Elsa Andreas, her brother Raymond Andreas and her husband Tom in 1998. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and John Stirton - Moose Jaw, sister-in-law, Edith (Elmer) Haskin - Roseville, CA, as well as cousins, and several nieces and nephews. In respecting Mom's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation will take place and she will be laid to rest next to Dad. A Tea will be held in her memory at W.J. Jones & Son Family Centre, 262 Athabasca St. E., on Friday, September 3, 2010 from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658, Moose Jaw, S6H 7K7, or to the Shriner's Patient Travel Fund, 1767 Main St. N., Moose Jaw, S6J 1L6.
