The death of William "Bill" Carmen McNamara, husband of May McNamara of Miramichi, NB, occurred at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Friday, September10, 2010 at the age of 86. Born in New Prospect, NS, Bill was the son of Vincent and Margaret (McAleese) McNamara. Bill was a Veteran of WW11, served in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe, he retired (1982) as supervisor of the Maintenance Department of Boise Cascade and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 10, Newcastle and Miramichi Senior Citizens Friendship Club, after retirement he enjoyed carpentry. Besides his wife May, Bill is survived by two daughters: Sharon Bushey (Wayne) of Miramichi, NB and Shelley Bryenton (Todd) of Bryenton, NB; one son: Charles (Julie) of Miramichi, NB; three sisters: Lois Lee, June Bowes and Carol Mitchell (Mike) all of Miramichi, NB; one brother: Keith of Victoria, BC; six grandchildren: Michele, Michael, Mark and Mackenzie Bushey, Marty McNamara and Jonathon Bryenton; six great grandchildren: Mikayla, Jaden and Kionna Bushey, Ethan, Liam and Owen McNamara; Predeceased by two sons: Daniel and Harold and two brothers: Donald and Brian.
At the request of the family there will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. A public Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 13, 2010 from St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church at 12 Noon with Father Tom Fowler officiating. In Bill's memory a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer Society or the Miramichi Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
