Floyd Taylor
Floyd Lovell Taylor, 85, of Salisbury passed away Tuesday September 14, 2010 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Second North River he was the son of the late Lovell and Linnie (Cochrane) Taylor. Floyd was a veteran of WW II having served with the North Shore Regiment and was wounded in Germany. Upon his return he worked as a millwright with Price Mills Lumber Company and for many years was a self employed residential building contractor and a former partner in Colpitts Woodworkers. He was a member of the Salisbury Baptist church. He enjoyed family gatherings and in his quiet way instilled a strong work ethic in his children. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 63 years Elinor (Jones), their daughters Barbara Hicks (Roger), of Guelph, Carol Babkirk, of Salisbury; their sons Bryan (Jeannie), of Berry Mills, Ross (Darlene), Grant (Leta) and Kirk of Salisbury, Michael (Jennifer), Christopher (Toby) of River Glade, Kevin (Kathy), of Mississauga; 24 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Survived also by a brother in law Conrad Bleakney of Salisbury. The last surviving member of his immediate family he was predeceased by his sisters Stella Taylor, Jessie Johnson, Mary Alward, Ida McWilliam and Elsie Bleakney and a grandson, Wally Babkirk.
Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. There will be a tribute to a Veteran service Thursday at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home by the Salisbury Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. The Funeral will be held from the Salisbury Baptist Church on Friday September 17 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Interment will be at Fairhaven Cemetery, Moncton. If desired memorials to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Salisbury Baptist Church Building Fund or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. www.keirsteads.ca
