The death occurred very peacefully with her loving family and her sister Zelma Gallant by her side at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside on Sunday, June 7, 2009 of Loretta Gallant (nee Arsenault) of Abram-Village at the age of 89 years. She was born in St. Chrysostome to her parents, the late Philimon and Roseline (nee Gallant) Arsenault. She was the dear wife of late Augustin (Gus) Gallant. She is survived by her loving children Ovila Joe (Annette Gallant, Cyrille (Claire) Gallant, Melvin (Lorraine) Gallant, Gloria (William) Files, Thelma (Herman) Gallant, Regina (Archie)Grady, Claudette (Edmond) Arsenault, Claude (Barb) Gallant, Antoinette (Mike) Arnold, Carmella (Ernest) Richard and Louise (Clarence) Richard; also by 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Zelma Gallant and a brother Andre (Regina) Arsenault , sisters-in-law Irene Arsenault, Madelaine Richard, Therese Hashee, Rita Draper, Louise Arsenault, Rita Arsenault, Yvonne Arsenault and a brother-in-law Norman Gallant. Besides her husband Gus and a grandson Alvin, she was pre-deceased by sister Bella Dunsford and brothers Alfred, Polycarpe, Cyrus, Joseph, Tilmon and Ernest, sisters-in-law Rosida Arsenault, Madeleine Arsenault, Milienne Gallant, Mary Gallant, Minnie Gallant, Bessy Gallant, Delphine Gallant, and Bregitte Hashie and brothers -in -law Elmer Dunsford, Edmond Gallant, Ben Gallant, Amand Gallant, Leo Gallant, John Gallant, Jean Pierre Gallant, Joseph Gallant, Gus Richard, Clarence Hashie, Fred Draper, Theodore Arsenault and Ben Hashee. She was one of the founders of Club 50, a member of Club 50 and also a member of Dames du Sanctuaire of Abram Village. She is resting at the Evangeline Funeral Home until Wednesday then to St. Philippe & St. Jacques Church in Egmont Bay for funeral mass at 3: 30 pm. Visitors, friends and family will be received on Tuesday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Le Chez Nous Ltee would be greatly appreciated. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
