It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Love 'Lovie' Bridgette Janega, Prince Street, Sydney, age 83. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home, Sept. 26, 2010.
Lovie was born in New Waterford, N.S., and was the daughter of the late Barney and Ida (Tighe) Ryan.
She was a caring, hard working, strong valued mother and wife who enriched the lives of her friends and family. Lovie had favorite sayings, those who knew her well know exactly what each meant and that they were always shared with humour and love. She was a lifetime member of St. Theresa's parish, Sydney, where she was a choir member for many years as she loved to sing even in her late years. Her most enjoyable times were spent with John, her boys and their families around her holiday dinner table, saying she was blessed with four great girls in the wives of her sons. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, making memories in her loving care, humour and sharing her beliefs.
Her name said it all, even in her last days she ended every sentence with an "I love you", we will all miss her and cherish our memories.
She was survived by her four sons and their families, Joseph (Carolyn), Tara (Matt), Graham, Katie (Chris), Joey and Leslie, Port Hawkesbury, N.S., John (Linda), Troy (Tanya), Jeremiah and Carla, Sydney, N.S., Bernie (Theresa), Nadine (Chris), Matthew and Jillian, Sydney, N.S., Rick (Estelle), Austin, Avery and Hannah, Bedford, N.S. She is also survived by four sisters, Vange Gaudette, Delores Fraser, Marilyn Ryan and Shirley MacNeil.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years, John J. Janega, they resided at 797 Upper Prince St., Sydney, N.S., by her brothers, Barney, Herman, Jerry, Terrance, Greg, Lucius and Tony and sisters, Peg (Lynch), Tesse (MacLean), Ida (Coady) and Vicki (MacDonald).
A heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home, Strait Richmond Hospital, to Mildred, Susan and Louella and those who cared so lovingly for her in her late years.
