June Wesley

ANTIGONISH - Verna June Wesley, 83, of the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish, passed away on September 25, 2010, at the nursing home.
Born in Trenton, NS, she was the youngest daughter of the late Montague and Helena (Crooks) Carver.
Following high school graduation, June attended business college in New Glasgow and was employed as a stenographer in the payroll department of the Eastern Car Works plant in Trenton. Following her marriage to Bill and a brief stay in Halifax, June and family moved to Shelburne before finally settling in Antigonish in 1956. Here, she, along with her husband, developed and operated a successful garden and landscaping business. As a youth, she particularly enjoyed skating. Her other interests included swimming, camping, and enjoying the outdoors. Her fondest times were those spent with her grandchildren. She loved her pets and she loved her bridge. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Anglican Church, Antigonish, and very active in the ladies groups supporting the church.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Andrew) MacDonald, Fredericton; sons: William (Judith), Truro, Dane (Stephanie), Guelph, ON, Stirling (Susan), Antigonish; sister, Dorothy Munroe, Burlington, ON; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husbands, William R. Wesley, Antigonish; and Harold Langley, Trenton; sister, Rachael (late Mansfield) MacDougall; daughter-in-law Frances and brother-in-law Sinclair Munroe.
There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be conducted on Thursday at 2 p.m. in St. Paul the Apostle's Anglican Church with Rev. Rebecca Sample presiding and Rev. Lori Ramsey celebrating the Eucharist. Burial in St. James-St. Paul's Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Church or the charity of choice.
