Heart's Content, age 78. Passed peacefully away with his family by his side on Monday, September 27, 2010 at the Harbour Lodge, Carbonear. Predeceased by his parents Henry and Mary Pitcher and his brother Albert (2007). Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife of 43 years Eleanor (nee George); his four children Brian (Linda), Heart's Content; Nancy King (Stephen), St. John's; Darren, Carbonear and Angela Rodgers (Dennis), St. John's; three very special granddaughters, Hannah and Nicole Pitcher and Abigail Rodgers; his little canine companion Shelby; stepson Derek George (wife Crystal and children Meaghan and Ryan), Deer Lake; one sister Clara Porter (the late Cecil Porter), St. John's; two brothers Edgar (the late Jean Pitcher), Carbonear and Oliver (Shirley), St. John's; sisters-in-law Annie Pitcher, Heart's Content; Claire Higdon (the late Fred Higdon), St. John's and Shirley Green (the late Fred Green), Winterton and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation from Green's Funeral Home, Winterton, Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 pm - 4 pm and 7 pm - 9 pm and Thursday from 10 - 12 pm. Funeral service to be held on Thursday, September 30th at 2 pm at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Heart's Content. Interment to follow at Heyfield Memorial United Church Cemetery.
