(1916 - 2010) - REXTON, NB - John Mitchell 94, of Rexton passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 3rd, 2010 at the Rexton Lions Nursing Home, Rexton. Born in South Branch, he was the son of the late William and late Mabel (Beers) Mitchell. John was employed at Warren's Mill and Construction for 38 years. John enjoyed music, dancing and cars. He was a member of the Richibucto Golden Age Club. He attended St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in South Branch. John will be sadly missed by his two daughters; Gertie Campbell (late Bob) of Ford's Mills, Dorothy Benoit (Noel) of Balla Phillip, two sons; Victor Mitchell of Hopkinton, MASS, Francis Mitchell (Jackie) of South Branch, ten grandchildren; Ronald (Toby) Campbell, Marilyn (Greg) MacArthur, Cindy (Danny) Arsenault, Faye (Kevin) Arsenault, Beverly Campbell, Barbara (Carl) Robichaud, Noel Benoit, Diane (Yves Arsenault) Benoit, Cathy Benoit, June (Reg) Smith, seventeen great grandchildren; Jamie MacArthur, Jody McDonald (Peter), Dylan Campbell, Dawson Campbell, Rankin Campbell, Schyler Campbell, Joey Arsenault, Jenna Arsenault, Kyle Arsenault, Hilary Arsenault, Carlin Arsenault, Matthew Murray, Emily Murray, Christopher Robichaud, Corey Robichaud, Madison Robichaud, Zac Arsenault, three great great grandchildren; Moesha MacArthur, Ella McDonald, Avery McDonald, two sisters-in-law; Marguerite Black, Edna Mitchell, many nieces and nephews, and by a very special friend; Nellie Symes and her family. John was predeceased by his wife; Eileen (Murphy) Mitchell, one son; Bert, one great granddaughter; Amanda, three sisters; Dorothy, Helen, Emma, six brothers; Harold, Kenneth, Ernest, Arthur, Alfred and Edwin.
Resting at Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto with visitation on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, Saturday at 9:00 am until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 9th, 2010 at 11:00 am, St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, South Branch. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. If so desired donations may be made to St. Peter's Cemetery Fund, Rexton Lions Nursing Home or donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
