Elaine Grace Hay of Toronto, ON. and formerly Coderre, SK. passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 23, 2010, at the age of 82 years. Elaine was born on May 1, 1928, in London, ON. to George and Beatrice Littleton. On October 10, 1964, Elaine married Robert (Bert) Hay of Coderre and they were blessed with two sons. Elaine and Bert stayed in London for the winter of 1964 and returned to Saskatchewan in the spring of 1965. They made their home and farmed in the Coderre District. They loved farming, gardening, spending time playing cards with friends and helping at bingo held weekly in Coderre. Due to health issues, Elaine and Bert moved to Toronto in 1992, where they lived together until his passing in 2001. Elaine is survived by her sons Colin and Dean of Toronto, ON; sisters Peg (Cliff) Scanlon and Gail (Chuck) Walters of London, ON. Predeceased by her husband Robert Hay; sister Ruth Driver; brothers Harold Littleton, Arthur Littleton, Donald Littleton and Kenneth Littleton. Funeral Service was held on Monday, September 27, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. in the Coderre Community Centre, Coderre, SK with Reverend Linda Tomlinson officiant. Honorary pallbearers were Campbell Smith, Cliff Scanlon, Doug Driver and Chuck Walters. Active pallbearers were Colin Hay, Lorne Hamilton, Bruce Myles, Jimmy Myles, Leonard Lepine and Glen Smith. Interment at Grace United Church Cemetery, Coderre, SK. Memorial tributes in memory of Elaine to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind were greatly appreciated.
