Roderick Neil MacNeil, 81, of 98 New Glen Rd., Iona, died June 10, 2009, at Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck.
Born in Gillis Point, he was the son of the late James Allan and Mary Elizabeth MacNeil.
He was a member of St. Columba parish, Iona.
He was a bus driver for 32 years with the Northside Victoria.
He is survived by his wife, the former, Muriel Elizabeth MacKenzie; sons, Anthony, home, Kenzie (Gisele), New Brunswick; daughter, Valerie (Ron), Victoria, B.C.; sisters, Mary Ann MacLean, Baddeck, Annie Catherine MacDonald, Washabuck; mother-in-law, Annie MacKenzie; granddaughter, Bhreagh Elizabeth; step great-grandchildren, Justin, Jacob, Kailyn (Martin); step-grandchildren, Jenny, Kathy (Martin); also several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by brothers, Micheal Allan, Columba and Donald.
The body is resting at the Holy Rosary Church, Washabuck, with visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2009. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 15, 2009, at the Holy Rosary Church, Washabuck, with Rev. Paul Abbass officiating. Burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Washabuck.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Rosary Cemetery Fund.
