Lucille Larter, of Kyle, SK passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, SK. Lucille was born on September 23, 1931 in Lucky Lake, SK to Annie and Carl Funk. On December 12, 1953 she married Herbert Larter of Kyle, where they made their home on the farm SE of Kyle for 45 years, raising two daughters, Bev born in 1953 and Cindy born in 1959. In the spring of 1999 they moved into a new home they built in Kyle. In her younger years, Lucille loved to participate in many activities including golf, curling and fastball. Later on in life, she enjoyed playing bingo, going to casinos, painting, gardening, cooking her wonderful meals and baking all sorts of goodies that she stored in her deep freeze for everyone to share. Family was the most important aspect of her life. She supported her children and grandchildren unconditionally in every activity they pursued. She became an avid hockey fan while watching her two grandsons play and enjoyed traveling to different places to watch hockey. Many friendships were made throughout her lifetime and she treasured each and every one of them. Lucille is a lifetime member of the Royal Purple, something she was very proud of. Lucille was an incredibly wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Lucille is survived by her husband of 57 years Herb Larter, daughters Cindy (Wade) Rempel of Kyle, SK and Beverley O'Hara of Union Bay, BC; grandchildren Bobbi Jo Rempel of Saskatoon, SK; Casey Rempel of Camrose, AB; Kathy O'Hara of Chilliwack, BC; Robbie (Jodi) O'Hara of Chilliwack, BC; and great-grandchildren Garret, Raelyn and Kamaya O'Hara of Chilliwack, BC. She is also survived by her sisters Muriel Vallevand of Outlook, SK and Edna Kutz of Winnipeg, MB, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Annie and Carl Funk, sisters Lourine Loitz, Beulah Johnson, Hazel Stockman, Eleanor Arnold, Ann Evans, Margaret Coviello, Louella Funk and brother George Funk. Funeral Services took place on Thursday, October 28th, 2010 at the Kyle Community Hall in Kyle, SK with Reverend Helen Herr officiating. The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff at Cypress Regional Hospital (Swift Current), Royal University Hospital, and the Kyle Ambulance Service for all their care. Memorial Donations may be made to the Kyle Community Sports Centre or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. Clements Rosetown Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
