Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, Robert J. 'Bob' Chubbs of Carbonear, age 81 years. Predeceased by: wife: Marie; parents: Robert and Mary Chubbs; sisters: Margaret Lee and Adelaide McDonald. Left to mourn: one daughter: Heather (Keith) Sweetland, Carbonear; two sons: Nigel (Eileen Butt), Gander and Robert (Ann), Carbonear; five grandchildren: Wanda, Robert B., Ashley, Lucas and Andrew; three great-grandchildren: Jayden, Abigail and Alexis; two brothers: Gordon (Doreen) and Harold (Marina), both of St. John's; three sisters: Annie Reid, Hilda Belbin and Mary Martin, all of St. John's; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Fr. Tim Parker conducted the funeral service on Saturday, October 30 at St. James Anglican Church, Carbonear. Interment took place in St. James Anglican Cemetery, Carbonear. Donations in his memory may be made to St. James Anglican Church or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
