JOAN TIMMS

Joan B. Timms (nee Cutting) was born July 13, 1923. She passed away at Chez Nous, Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the age of 87. She served in A.T.S. Auxiliary Territorial Service from 1941-1945 in Great Britain. Stationed at Fighter Command Uxbridge where it's underground (100 foot) complex was known as the "HOLE" which Churchill himself visited during the height of the Battle of Britain. Mom married R.J.(Bob) Timms, the love of her life, on June 3, 1945 in Great Britain. She came to Canada aboard the "Aquitania", March 1946. She was Charter Regent of Jervis Bay Chapter I.O.D.E. Predeceased by her beloved Bob in 1989 (they had such a happy marriage); also her parents and only brother Arthur. She is survived by daughter, Nadine (Ross) Hagerty, granddaughter Jill (Evan) Schwabe; son Gregg (Rita), grandsons Bartt (Brandi), Marc, and Derek, and special great-granddaughter Ella. Her family was everything to her - she cared about them so much and they brought her great joy. Also surviving are special brother-in-law, Terry Timms; sister-in-law, Elaine Cutting; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. The Funeral Services will be held at W. J. Jones and Son Chapel on Monday November 1, 2010 at 1:30. Della Ferguson will officiate. A private family memorialization will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. Mom moved into Chez Nous Senior Citizens Home in September 2008. She loved the staff as they were so generous and kind and cared deeply about her. Special thanks to the staff at Chez Nous, Dr. Miller and Dr. Sanderson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
