LONGMUIR - William (Bill) Longmuir of Medicine Hat and formerly of the Tompkins district passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital at 94 years of age. He was born on December 25, 1915 north of Piapot, Saskatchewan. Bill worked at various jobs as a laborer helping to build Diefenbaker dam, doing carpentry, ranching, cemetery work and later in life, driving school bus. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a hunting guide. Bill loved to cook and play crib. He enjoyed watching most sports on television, particularly curling. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren playing sports. He really enjoyed his Sunday drives. Bill spent his whole life in the Tompkins area until about seven years ago when he moved to Medicine Hat. Predeceased by his wife Gladys, son Dale, daughter Peggy Hill and one great granddaughter Candice Jensen. Survived by son Roger (Gail) of Lethbridge, grandchildren Wendy Campbell (Milton), Wanda Campbell (Harold), Tim Hill (Karen), Shari Shields (Ferg), Brad Hill (Louise), Jamie Hill (Noel), Derald Longmuir, Sheri-Gaye Walker, Cole Longmuir, Kevin Longmuir, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, one sister Irene Mollerud of Outlook as well as nieces and nephews. The graveside service was held on Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Tompkins Cemetery, Tompkins, Sask. at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Eleanor Rockabar officiating. Binkley's Funeral Service of Shaunavon (www.Binkleys.com) was in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
