Passed away on Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, after a lengthy illness, at the Central NL Regional Health Centre, Walter Charles Pelley of Northern Arm. He was 87 years of age. Mr. Pelley retired from the Dept. of Transportation in 1983. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Ethel; brothers, Fred, Howard, Ronald, Stanley, Philip; sisters, Effie Curlew, Stella Stride and Margaret Budgell. Left to mourn are his wife Winnie; sons, Terry (Lorene), Gerald (Karen); grandchildren, Catherine Pelley (Jason Bessey), Melissa Pittman (Brad), Michael Pelley (Alicia MacDonald); great-grandchildren, Natalie and Ryan Bessey, Kaylin and Mya Pittman. Also left to mourn are his sisters Daisy Gosse (Douglas), Violet Clarke; brother, Wilfred (Annetta) and a circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Marilyn Rees conducted funeral service at Faith United Church, Northern Arm on Monday, Nov. 1, 2010 with interment at the United Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Homes, Botwood. Pallbearers were sons, Terry and Gerald; granddaughters Catherine and Melissa; nephew, Paul; niece Pauline.
