Marion Green
On November 3, 2010 Marion went to heaven from the Grand Manan Nursing Home after residing there for four years. The staff there enjoyed her wrinkly smile, dry humor, and sweet disposition. She was born in December of 1914 the daughter of the late Clinton and Myrtle (Ellingwood) Ingalls. In her early years she worked at Connors Bros. Sardine Factory in Black’s Harbour and her husband “Link†would pick her and her mother up on his boat to bring them home for the weekend. She raised and loved her children and was a very active member of the Grand Harbour Baptist Church over the years. She served as the Sunday School Secretary, sang in the choir for over sixty five years, and faithfully attended services to worship. Also she belonged to the Pythian Sisters Lodge. Survived by her daughters Verna (Jack) MacKenzie of Woodwards Cove, Barbara (Eugene) Ingersoll of Castalia, Angela (David) Outhouse of Castalia. Two sons Sutton Green of Saint John, and Cyril Green of Grand Harbour. Eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Donovan, one son Russell. Two grandchildren John and Galen. Her three sisters Bertha Hatt, Florence Ingalls, Annie Tucker, also her brother Sutton Ingalls, and daughter-in-law Nancy Green.
Visiting hours will take place Friday at Ells Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from the Grand Harbour Baptist Church on Saturday November 6, 2010 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Jeff Benson officiating. The interment will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Castalia. Donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
