Peacefully at the Summerset Manor, Summerside on Thursday Nov. 4, 2010 of Florence “Ruth” Thompson aged 87 years, formerly of Victoria Street, Kensington. Born in New Annan on Nov. 2, 1923 daughter of the late Edson and Annie Florence (Larkin) Dalzell. Wife of G. Wallace Thompson, Kensington. Mother of Barry (Beverley), Don (Rhonda), Dean (Charlotte), Danny (Joanne) and Peter (Leila) Thompson. Grandmother to Jennifer, Stephanie (Patrick) Noonan, Melissa (Kevin Arthur), Jeffery, Kerrie, Dustin (Cy Hipolito), Tanya (Trevor LeClair), Amanda (Dave Murray), Susanne and Mitchell Thompson, great grandmother to Kaylee, Konnor and Gabrielle. Sister of Edna Cotnam, Doris Paynter and Richard (Helen) Dalzell. Sister-in-law of Heather Dalzell and Allison Arsenault. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by daughter Judy Ann Thompson, brothers William, Robert, Reginald, Gardiner, David and George Dalzell, sisters Louise Morgan, Eleanor Hamilton, June Randall and Janet Arsenault, father-in-law and mother-in-law George and Catherine (Boyle) Thompson, brothers-in-law Louis and John (Jack) Thompson, sisters-in-law Lorena Morrison (late Bill) and Betty Ann Thompson in infancy. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington for visitation on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Funeral Monday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. Interment in Kensington People’s Cemetery. If so desired contributions may be made to the Kensington People’s Cemetery Fund, Summerset Manor Equipment Fund or the Alzheimer Society. Members of Lt. Col. E.W. Johnstone Branch # 9 Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary will hold a service of remembrance at the funeral home Sunday afternoon at 1:45 p.m.
