The death of Mr. Donald Emerson “Buddy” Shaddick Sr. husband of Audrey (MacKinley) Shaddick of South Esk, NB, occurred on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 78. Born in Nelson, NB, he was the son of the late Allan and Emily (MacKinley) Shaddick. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church, a retired self-employed truck driver and also worked for Castle Machine Works. He was a man who loved and enjoyed his home and family. Besides his wife, Buddy is survived by: five daughters: Debra Springer (Brian) of Greenwood, NS; Kathryn Baldwin (Tim) of Little Lepreau, NB; Patsy Porter (Terry) of South Esk, NB; Andrea Ruga (Mark) of Dorothy, New Jersey; Tracy Wakefield (Rick) of South Esk, NB; five sons: James (Carole) of Saint John, NB; Donnie (Rhonda); David (Eileen); Randy (Heather) all of South Esk, NB; Jason of Miramichi, NB; one sister: Joan Stevens (James) of Moncton, NB; sister in law: Marg Shaddick of Miramichi, NB; 17 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Buddy is predeceased by: sister: Betty Duncan, brothers: Norman, Harvey and Fred; one infant great granddaughter: Audrey.
The family will receive visitors at Bell’s Funeral Home on Monday evening from 7 to 9 PM and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 2 PM from the Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jacob Baldwin officiating assisted by Pastor Vincent Somers. Burial will follow in the Miramichi Cemetery. In Buddy’s memory donations may be made to the New Brunswick Diabetic Association.
