Rene A. Corbett - 69, of Vernon, British Columbia, formerly of Wolfville, passed away, with family by his side, Thursday, October 26, 2010 in Vernon Jubilee Hospital, following a brief battle with cancer. Born on October 1, 1941, in Wolfville, he was a son of the late Isaac and Annie (Brown) Corbett. Prior to retiring in Vernon, Rene worked for many years in roofing and construction in Nova Scotia and Ontario. He is survived by two daughters, Karen and Kathy Corbett and four grandchildren, Raeleen, Styler, Aaron and Cortney, all of Ontario; former wife, Lucilla Murlay, Yarmouth; two brothers, Ronald (Hazel) Corbett, Wolfville; Carl Corbett, Windsor; five sisters, Maxine Messom, Hedley, British Columbia; Pauline (LeRoy) Cavanagh, Newtonville; June (Donn) Miles, Black River; Ann Corbett, Wolfville; Hilda Rogers Corbett, New Minas; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Wayne, Frederick and Blaine; three sisters, Nadine, Deborah and Doreen. Cremation has taken place. There was no visitation or funeral service, by request. A private graveside interment took place in the Greenfield Cemetery, Kings County, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiated. Donations in memory may be made to the Forest Hill Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
