Gayle Christine Miner - 61, of Greenwich, Kings County, formerly of Centreville and Kentville, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2010 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Wolfville and raised in Port Williams, she was a daughter of the late Orrin and Peggy (Knickle) Lantz. She owned and operated a hair salon in Port Williams for many years. Gayle and her late husband, Blake were foster parents to numerous children over the years. She enjoyed hand crafts and often offered her work as gifts to family and friends. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Miner (Darryl Crann), Coldbrook; Barbara Miner, Alberta; a grandson, Fraser; three sisters, Cheryl (Paul) Horton, Avonport; Carolyn (Michael) McKinnon, Cambridge; Doris Lantz (Mark Leefe), Kentville; a brother, Allister (Ardythe), Scott’s Bay; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Blake; a brother, Gary. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. There will be no visitation, by request. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 12, 2010 in the Gaspereau Cemetery, Reverend David Ogilvie officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Red Cross Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
