The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Tuesday Nov. 9, 2010, of Gerard Allain of Summerside and formerly of Pleasant View aged 84 years. Beloved husband of Mildred Allain, nee Doucette. He was born in DeBlois on Oct. 10, 1926, the son of the late Emmanuel and Evangeline (Arsenault) Allain. Loving father to Clayton, Mount Uniacke, N.S.; James, Yukon Territories; Ronnie (Susan), Summerside; Deborah Allain (Ron), Quispamsis, N.B., and Shelley (Edison) Smith, Yarmouth, N.S. Cherished grandfather to Tara, Jeffrey, Alicia, Gage and Garrett and great-grandfather to Quiana and Keagan. Dear brother to Margaret Doucette, O’Leary; Sophie Hansen, Saint John, N.B.; Lorraine (Clayton) Boudreau, Fredericton, N.B.; Frederick (Stella) and Francis (Alice), both of DeBlois; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Emmanuel and Evangeline, sisters Rita and Dora and a brother Joe. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, Palmer Road, for visiting hours Thursday 2-4 for family and 7-9 p.m. for the public. Funeral will be held Friday at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, with funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations to the Prince County Hospital Palliative Care Unit would be greatly appreciated.
