Gibson, Karen Ann – 65, Hilden, passed away on November 10, 2010 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Yuill and Greta (Carter) Moore.
During the time her children were growing up, she had a hairdressing shop in her home. Her love of children led to babysitting for others and later to doing private homecare. She enjoyed having a number of foreign exchange students live in the family home in recent years.
Surviving are her husband, Robert; sons, Aaron (Cindy) Hinton, Brookfield; Shawn (Susan) Hinton, Brantford, Ont.; sister, Janice Moore (Warren Grant), Halifax; brothers, Gary (Marilyn), Smithers, B.C.; David (Susan), Ont.; grandchildren, Nicholas, Mitchell, Bria, Adam; sister-in-law, Grace Moore, Truro; goddaughter, Paula Zinck, Hilden. She was predeceased by daughter, Sonya Leigh in infancy; brothers, Ronald, Glen.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Sunday, 7-9 p.m., and funeral service will be Monday at 2 p.m., both in Knox United Church, Brookfield, Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Burial to follow in Westside Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Canadian Red Cross or Victorian Order of Nurses.
