IN LOVING MEMORY OF
MICHAEL (MIKE) PALMER ANTONIA

It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to Michael Palmer Antonia on November 8, 2010 at Overlander Residential Care Facility after a lengthy, hard-fought 38-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Joy; his two children, Michelle (Mike) Mattes and Nick Antonia; and his grandchildren, Todd, Jake, Levi, Kirsten and Dallas. Mike is also survived by his father Ivan (Verna), brother Marc (Tracy) and sister Maureen (Hank). He leaves many family and friends to mourn his passing.
Mike was predeceased by his mother Ruby, brother-in-law John, mother-in-law Gladys and infant great nephew Jonah.

Mike was born and raised in Orillia, Ontario and came out west to pursue his career as a welder. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 115 and worked on several large construction projects throughout BC including Tumbler Ridge, the CPR Selkirk Tunnel and the Coquihalla Highway. He also worked in several mines and shops in and around the Kamloops area.

Mike was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for golfing, fly fishing and bird hunting. At one time he was a member of Rivershore Golf and Country Club as well as a member of the Kamloops Steelhead Society, the Kamloops Trap and Skeet Club and the Dean River Fishing Society.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Overlander for their exceptional kindness and compassion shown to Mike over the last 9 years.
