At the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, of Alban “Abby” Ellsworth Griffin of Deblois, aged 76 years. Born in West Devon on Jan. 1, 1934, he was the son of the late Raymond and Julia (nee Arsenault) Griffin. He is survived by his children, David Griffin of Charlottetown and Ann LeGault of Barrie, Ont. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Lee (Kay) of Summerside; Allan (Elsie) of Toronto; Joan (Tom) Barbour of Alberton; Ann (Peter) Gaudet of Tignish; Roy (Beth) of Charlottetown; and Elizabeth (Richard) Oliver of Toronto. He was predeceased by his former wife Amelia (nee Horrocks) and by his son Michael. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours were Sunday. Funeral on Monday morning, Nov. 22, from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery. If so desired memorials to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery Fund would be gratefully appreciated. Members from the Tignish Branch #6 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service of remembrance for their departed member Sunday evening at 6:45.
