It is with great sadness that we the family of Dana Fraser (Lorway) announce her passing on Nov. 20, 2010, at the Burnaby General Hospital in B.C. Dana lost her two-year battle with cancer and passed away peacefully with her family by her side.
Dana was born on June 28, 1974, in Sydney, N.S. She loved Cape Breton and was proud to call it home. In 2000 Dana moved to Vancouver and was employed by Terra Nova Mortgage Corp. and enjoyed her working life in Yaletown. She enjoyed life to the fullest and was a true friend to everyone she met.
Besides her parents, Ronald and Shirley Lorway, Dana is survived by her husband and love of her life, Trevor Fraser; sister, Charlotte (Shawn); nieces, Shara (Chad) and Kelsey, Sydney; brother, Darren (Lucy), B.C.; niece, Ashley (Keigan), Sydney; and step-grandmother, Annie Fifield, Sydney; mother and father-in-law, Faye and Wayne Fraser, New Brunswick; brother-in-law, Craig (Christie) and their children, Riley and Taya, Vancouver; brother-in-law, Brent (Dale), Vancouver as well as several aunts and uncles.
Dana was predeceased by her grandparents, William and Susan Fifield, John and Charlotte Lorway and step-grandmother Etta Lorway.
Dana's love for her family and friends had a profound effect on many. Her love of life, her infectious smile and warm heart will be greatly missed.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 1 at the Salvation Army Community Church, Inglis Street, Sydney at 7 p.m. Reception to follow in the church hall.
Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Palliative Care or charity of choice in memory of Dana.
