After a long, full and wonderful 99 years, Ned pasted away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 30 in the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Harbour Round, Nfld., he arrived in Glace Bay, Cape Breton, at the age of two years. He was the son of the late James and Elizabeth (Mansefield) Lannon.
He worked for 45 years at No. 20 Colliery in Glace Bay.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Ned was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. His entire family was his pride and joy. During his latter years, he was a faithful visitor to many hospitals and guest homes to cheer up many of his senior friends.
He was a member of St. Anne's Church where he served as hospitality minister for many years.
Ned is survived by sons, Jim, Jack, Tom, Glace Bay, Al (Gemma), Truro, N.S., and daughter, Eileen (Keith) Oldford, Glace Bay; grandchildren, Jim, Glen, Carla, Glen, Lana and Jason (Jo-Ann), who are expecting; great-grandchildren, Michael, Caden, Cheyenne, Kristen, MacKenzie, Talal and Jessica; several nieces, nephews; brother, Tom and sister, Jeanette.
Ned was predeceased by his loving wife, Catherine (O'Donnell), son, Rev. Fr. Joseph Patrick and in infancy, daughter, Mary Kay, brothers, Tony, Jim, sisters, Nellie, Josie, Pat, Irene and Joan.

A private family service will be held in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay.
