JOSEPH "Joe" MADDEN. Joe, Joey, Ted Madden passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, December 3rd, 2010. He was born in Regina on October 14th, 1948 to Joe and Myrtle Madden. Raised in Regina and after completing high school, he was employed with the Dept. of Highways, for which he worked for 41 years, retiring in 2008. Shortly after his retirement, he joined the Corps of Commissionaires and worked in detention with the City Police. In these capacities, he met and influenced many lives. Always the eternal optimist right to the very end, Joe held his family, friends, and co-workers in high regard. Putting others before himself and accepting everyone the way they are was one of his most endearing qualities. A quiet man, a strong man, a caring man, the most wonderful friend, husband, confidant and companion I could ever wish for. He will be missed by everyone who knew him and loved him, especially me, Anne, his wife of 31 years; his grandchildren, Tylor, Dalas and Janae; his sons, Bryce (Raquel) and David Fisher; his sister, Pat (Don) Fairbairn; his brothers, Tom (Georgette) and Rob (Beryl) Madden; his mother-in-law, Margaret "Granny" Douglas; and sister-in-law, Betty (Howard) Paterson. He also had a great love for and interest in all of his nieces and nephews, Joel, Andrea, Kelly, Josh, Jennifer, Dallas, Mickey, Steve, Doug, Sarah, Graham and Logan. We would like to thank our wonderful Dr. Brad Sperling for his compassionate and extraordinary care for Joe during his illness. Also the Palliative Homecare Nursing Angels, Jocelyn, Valoy, Donna and Gail and our wonderful friends who fed and looked after us all during Joe's last days. There will be a Memorial Gathering to Celebrate Joe's life on Saturday, December 11th, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Anne's Parish Hall (217 Lenore Drive). Please make donations to Saskatoon SPCA, as Joe was passionate about animals and their proper care. Again, thank you all so much. Arrangements in care of David Polzen - MOURING GLORY FUNERAL SERVICES, Saskatoon, SK (306) 978-5200. www.mourningglory.ca
