Gertrude Jessome of Stirling Road, Glace Bay, passed away Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Bridget (Finnell) Kane.
Gertrude had strong faith in her religion and was a member of St. John's Church, Glace Bay. At one time she was employed in the house keeping department at St. Joseph's Hospital, Glace Bay. She was a very quite lady who took great comfort in the gospel readings.
Gertrude is survived by her son, Danny MacEachern and his companion, Joan, Glace Bay.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Kern Jessome and her second common law husband, Simon MacEachern.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home in Glace Bay. The funeral mass, officiated by Rev. Leo Boone is Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. John's Church followed by interment in the parish cemetery.
