Eleanor Vera Ross, age 86, passed away at the Centennial Villa, Amherst on Monday, November 15, 2010.



Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Bertha (MacKenzie) Sterling.



Having lived her life in Springhill, Eleanor was known by many on Herrett Road as "Nane". She was well known for her love of all children both in providing a loving home and treats for many occasions, including Halloween and Christmas. Throughout her years of working at McLean's Frozen Foods and Oxford Frozen Foods she made lifelong friends and memories.





Eleanor will be sadly missed by those who loved her most, Ginny Sterling Boddie (John), Tammy Ross, Jamie Ross (Renee, Max and Nicolas), Ken Sterling (Linda, Scott, Tracey and Ashley); siblings, Edith Holloway and George Sterling (Hazel); her dear friend, Betty Sterling. She was predeceased by husbands, Robert Ross and Dennis Wood and her son, Robert (Bob) Ross; siblings, Verna, Olga and Les.



By Eleanor's request there will be no visitation or memorial service. Eleanor's remains have been cremated under the direction of the W. Allen Funeral Home, Oxford (447-2167). In lieu of flowers donations to the LA Animal Shelter or charity of the donor's choice gratefully accepted. www.allenfuneralhome.ca
