Passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer on December 9, 2010. Beloved father to his children Michael and Anne and cherished husband to his wife of 5 years Lilianna Mrozek and her son Peter. Predeceased by his mother Mary, father Joseph and brother Andre. He will be deeply missed by his sister Dianne, brothers Walter (Dawn), Arthur (Debbie) and Dale (Diane). Patrick will be remembered for his sense of humour and deep commitment to social justice, human rights, volunteerism, human dignity and the protection and fair representation of his brothers and sisters in the workplace. Patrick placed great value in family and friends and was always very excited to return to his home in Newfoundland to reconnect with his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends he held dear. In Patrick's memory, donations may be made to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation or to Guide Dogs of America. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy. 7 (West of Pine Valley Dr.), Woodbridge, on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Benedict's Parish, 2194 Kipling Ave., Etobicoke on Monday, December 13th at 11:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
