It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ernest Joseph Bennett announce his passing on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility at the age of 75 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 55 years Ivy (nee Perry); children: Wanda, Wayne, Lorraine (John) Earle, Laura, Robert and Lisa; special granddaughter Cara (Ashley) Stanford; great-grandsons Henry and Hunter; brothers and sisters: Tom (Thomas) (Marie), Clarence (Bella), Ron (Sylvia), Marilyn (Paul) Gaudet and Frances Kelly; brothers and sisters-in-law: Vincent (Bev), Ashley, Leslie (Rosalind), Ross (Olive), Junior (Sharron), Frances (Ross) Hurley, Beryl (Mervin) King, Annie Perry and Donna Hann; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents John and Helen, brother Shannon, sister Marie Young, sister-in-law Olive Wheaton, father and mother-in-law Cecil and Winnifred Perry and sister-in-law Georgina Perry. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 17 at 2:00 p.m. from All Hallows Parish, Humber Road with Father Ambrose Hynes officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy no flowers by request donations may be made to the Diabetic Association.
