Sister Elizabeth Anne Bolduc, RPB

Passed in: Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
Passed on: December 15th, 2010

On December 15, 2010, at the Monastery of the Precious Blood in Hamilton, Sister Elizabeth Anne Bolduc, entered eternal life in the peace of the Lord and the hope of resurrection.
Surrounded by her Sisters, she left this world in the 102nd year of her life and in the 78th year of her Profession of Vows.
Her father, Denis Stanislaus Bolduc, a French Canadian, was born in Quebec, and her mother, Alice Staysick, of Ukrainian descent, was born in Alberta. Anne was born in 1909 in Smoky Lake, Alberta. She is predeceased by her seven siblings: Rose, Josephine, Alex, Napoleon, Philip, Marie and Julia.
As a young adult, "Annie" had the joy and privilege of being adopted into the Dr. Mooney family of Vancouver. Their daughter, Sister Martha Marie, chose to become a Sister of the Precious Blood. A few years later, Annie also answered this same call. Of this family, Elizabeth (Mooney) Montague remains the only living member. She and Sister Elizabeth Anne have always enjoyed a close relationship. In 1929 Anne entered the Precious Blood Monastery in Edmonton. She went on the Foundation to Charlottetown where she made her Profession of Vows in 1932. Sister served in several Monasteries across Canada: Charlottetown, Hamilton, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. She returned to Hamilton in 2005 where she spent her last few years in the infirmary. Sister loved her vocation. She was an example of deep faith and persevering fidelity in her life as a Sister Adorer of the Precious Blood, a life prayer for the needs of the church and most especially for our priests.
Visitation will be held at the Precious Blood Monastery, 154 Northcliffe Ave., Hamilton, on Friday, December 17, from 3:30-7 p.m. Prayers for Sister Elizabeth Anne will be offered at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 17. The funeral Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at the monastery on Saturday, December 18, at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
