Mr. John Christie Stockdale of Kiwanis Nursing Home formerly of Cassidy Lake passed away at his residence on December 16, 2010 at the age of 81. Born in Darlings Island, he was the son of the late Thomas and Josephine (McMillan) Stockdale. John is survived by his wife Marilyn (MacNair) Stockdale, three sons: Mark Stockdale and his wife Susan Nichol, Thomas Stockdale all of Montreal and Christopher Stockdale and his wife Denise of Summerville, NS, his sister-in-law, Laura Stockdale of Drurys Cove; as well as several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his brother Austen and his sister Muriel. John was a University Professor retiring from Laval University in Montreal. He was a writer having published poems.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Sunday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 pm.
