Brown, Shirley Viola- 83, of Wolfville, passed away Friday, December 10, 2010 at the Wolfville Nursing Home. Born in Grafton, she was the daughter of the late Murray & Jennie (Price) Dempsey. Shirley was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, Wolfville. She enjoyed sewing & making crafts & also loved walking on the Atlantic coast beaches. She is survived by two sons: Michael (Peggy), Alberta & Peter of Wolfville; one grandson: Matthew, Ontario; two sisters: Ardath Lamontagne, Halifax & Helen Jessup, Alberta; one step sister: Wiarda Kirchmayer; several nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by two sisters: Ethel "Gwen" Jessup & Noreen Whynot and step parents: Grace Dempsey & Err Zwicker. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2010 from St. John's Anglican Church, Port Williams. Rev. Sandra Fyfe officiating. Interment took place in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
