MURPHY, Leah Anna - 93, of Tidal View Manor, formerly of Little River Harbour, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 14, 2010, in Tidal View Manor. Born February 17, 1917, in Little River Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Avite and Arthenise (Surette) Fitzgerald. She was a devoted homemaker and noted for her excellent cooking skills. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by children, Anna (John) Barr, Halifax; Michael (Sharon) Murphy, Little River Harbour; Marie (Darrell) Watkins, Wellington, Yarmouth Co.; William (Patricia) Murphy, Little River Harbour; Madeline (Roland) Doucet, Wedgeport; Eleanor (Collie) Nickerson, Little River Harbour; Roderick Jr. (Janet) Murphy, Little River Harbour; 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband, Roderick Stephen Murphy; granddaughter, Connie Murphy. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny's Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Yarmouth. Funeral mass will take place at St. Gabriel Catholic Church at a later date. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia.
