Ralph Bennett Callaghan of St. Thomas, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in his 78th year. Dearly loved husband of Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Callaghan and loved father of Paul Callaghan (Michele) of St. Thomas and Keleigh MacArthur (Greg) of Tottenham. Loved grandfather of Jacob and Zack MacArthur. Dear brother of Max Callaghan (Sheila) of Montreal, Joyce McIver (Lewis), Patrick Callaghan (Florence), Eloise MacDonald (Aubrey), Lorne Callaghan and Louis Callaghan, all of P.E.I. and Helen MacDonald of New Brunswick. Predeceased by four brothers Cecil, Phil, Roy and Harvey and two sisters Rosalie and Marilyn. Ralph was born in Ebbsfleet, P.E.I. on Jan. 25, 1933, the son of the late Patrick and Isabel (McCarthy) Callaghan. He was retired from Ford Canada, Talbotville. He was a member of the C.A.W. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas until Wednesday and then to St. Anne's Church where Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in Holy Angels' Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined. Remembrances may be made to the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Foundation.
