Eddie Hartley Colpitts, 90, of Moncton, and formerly of Petitcodiac, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on December 19, 2010. Born in Irishtown, he was a son of the late Hartley and Hazel (McCully) Colpitts and husband of the late Bessie (Sutherland) Colpitts. Eddie was a well-driller and worked for Canada Cement. He is survived by his daughter, Heather Steeves (Michael) of Riverview; his daughter-in-law, Debra Colpitts of The Glades; his sisters: Pauline Plume and Ena Thorne of Kinnear Settlement, and Alice Crandall of Mapleton; his brothers: Walter of Kinnear Settlement and Floyd of Moncton; grandchildren: Chris, Amber, Shannon, Matthew, Larissa and Alyson; four great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents and wife, Eddie was predeceased by his son Eric (on November 26, 2010), and his sisters: Jessie MacLean and Evelyn Constantine, and his brother Evans.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm; the funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Lloyd O'Blenis presiding; all in Armstrong's Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac. Interment will take place in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
