Passed peacefully away after a lengthy battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family at the Dr. Walter Templeman Hospital, Bell Island, NL on December 19, 2010, in his 75th. year. Predeceased by son-in-law Gary Sparkes 2008. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his beloved wife Elizabeth (Betty) (Nee Jarvis) of 53 years; son Roland (Judy), Bell Island; daughter Karen, Bell Island; four grandchildren: Shawn (Marilene), Paradise, Nicholas (Tracy), Bell Island, Tara (Stewart), Toronto, Ont., Amanda (Peter) Belgium; three great-grandchildren: Emily, Tyler and Deven, Ontario; sister Elizabeth Drover (Gerald), Bell Island; special and close friend Clayton Kennedy. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Pendergast's Funeral Home. Visitation Tuesday and Wednesday from 12 noon to 9 p.m. Funeral Service on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 2 p.m. from Jackson United Church, Bell Island. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Lance Cove, Bell Island, NL.
