Stephen Gilliss
Miramichi - Stephen Melvin (Muss) Gilliss, husband of Christine Gilliss, of Chatham Ave., Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Thursday, December 30, 2010, at the age of 60. Born in Chatham on March 9, 1950, he was the son of the late Erwin K. and Linda (McLenaghan) Gilliss. He was a laborer and a former employee of A&L Taxi Ltd. He was United Church by faith. He is survived by his wife, the former Christine Lynch; two daughters, Jocelyne Soucy (Stephane), of Edmunston, N.B. and Tammy Daigle (Daren), of Miramichi; two sons, Stephen Gilliss Jr. (Samatha), of Calgary, AB and Wayne Gilliss (Tammy), of Miramichi; six grandchildren, Sydney, Journey, Autumn, Addison, Stevie, Xavier; four sisters, Judy MacDonald (Donald), of Miramichi Bay, Debbie Gilliss, of Bay du Vin, Kathy MacDonald (Avard), of Point Aux Carr, Winnifred Gilliss, of Point Aux Carr; six brothers, David Gilliss, of Toronto, Ont., Kenneth Gilliss, of Bay du Vin, Randy Gilliss (Dorothy), of Calgary, AB, Terry Gilliss (Tina), of Napan Bay, Douglas Gilliss, of Lindsay, Ont., Reg Gilliss (Mary Lou), of Weldfield; one sister in law, Shirley Gilliss, of Point Aux Carr; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Keith Gilliss.
Visiting will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Sunday only, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Carmel United Church, Napan, on Monday, January 3, 2011, conducted by Penny Potlewaite. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery, later in the spring.
