Gwendolyn M. (Ross) MacLean, 69, of 4 Dennis St., died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, in Clinton Hospital, after being stricken ill.
She leaves her husband of 43 years, Johnston MacLean; two daughters, Kimberly S. MacKoul and her husband Michael, Millbury, MA, and Jennifer L. Elwell and her husband David, Auburn, MA; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Ryan MacKoul and Heather and Samuel Elwell; her in-laws, Mary Turner, Lancaster, MA, John and Ann MacLean, Trenton, Ont., and Kenneth and Judith MacLean, Lancaster, MA; many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Robert MacLean.
Gwen was born in Glace Bay, N.S., and raised in Reserve Mines, N.S., the daughter of John Robert and Catherine (MacLean) Ross.
She was a graduate of Morrison Glace Bay High School, N.S., Class of 1959. In 1961, she relocated to Massachusetts.
For 25 years, Gwen worked as office manager and bookkeeper for Res-Tech Corp. of Clinton, MA, retiring in 2002.
She was a member of the Evangelical Congregational Church of Lancaster, MA and the Red Hat Society. An avid bowler, she also enjoyed knitting.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, from 5-7 p.m. in the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton, MA. Funeral services and burial will be private.
For those who wish, the family suggests that memorial donations be made locally to Children's Hospital, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA, 02115, or the New England Center for Children, 33 Turnpike Rd., Southborough, MA, 01722.
