P. John Ryan, 85, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, January 6, 2011, following a sudden illness. Born in Bouctouche, he was the son of the late Patrick and Annie (Allain) Ryan. John was a retired CN Dispatcher with 35 years service and attended St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church. He was an avid walker (John the Walker), enjoyed gardening, doing yard work and reading the local newspaper. John enjoyed watching hockey, especially his Chicago Blackhawks as they won the Stanley Cup in 2010. He enjoyed socializing with his friends and spending quality time with his family, in particular his grandchildren, whom he supported in all their endeavours. John will be sadly missed by his children, Carol Anne Melanson (Paul), Moncton, Sheila Ryan, Halifax, NS, Gary Ryan (Monique), Grand Digue, Susan MacDonald (Tim), Moncton; precious grandchildren, Leo Paul, Julie, Brandon, Natalie, Venessa, Christine, Ryan, Alex, Michael and Shane; sisters, Agnes Scobie, Deux-Montagnes, PQ, Marjorie Ryan, Los Angeles; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Hazel (Gould) Ryan (March 2005); brothers, Harold, Dennis, Edward and George.
