CHELLE - Alice Chelle age 75 years of the Frenchville, Saskatchewan district died on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the Shaunavon Hospital & Care Centre following a brief battle with cancer. Alice Therese Chelle (nee Facette), eldest of 5 children was born in Bracken, Saskatchewan on December 6, 1935 to Aurore and Theodore Facette. She attended Val Marie and Ponteix Schools. She married Guy Chelle in 1953 and spent her life on the farm in the Frenchville district. Her passions included operating a combine during harvest, baking pastries, sewing, fishing, entertaining at her cabin, playing cards and hosting friends and family for meals or visits in her home. Alice is survived by her children Edme (Linda), Dolorese, Loraine (Mike), Doris (George), Rodolphe (special friend, Maxine) and Marc (Donna), and pet dogs (Niko and Spot). She was predeceased by her husband Guy on March 9, 2003, her parents Theodore and Aurore Facette. She is survived by her children Ed (Linda) of Eddystone, Manitoba, grandchildren Chris and great grandchildren Cache and Hunter Chelle, grandson Ryan and great grandchildren Savhanna, Gavin, and Brooklyn, and grandsons Gregory and Kyle; Delores MacLeod of Battleford, Saskatchewan; Loraine (Mike) O'Donnell of Regina, grandchildren Michel and Wade; Doris (George) Tweten of Success, Saskatchewan, grandchildren Rachel (Cliff) and great granddaughter Payton and grandson Curtis; Rudy (Maxine) of Frenchville and grandchildren Lesley and Renée; Marc (Donna) of Pierceland, Saskatchewan, grandchildren Tyler and Stacey; her brothers Roland (Hilda) Facette of Val Marie, Marcel (Janine) Facette of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, John (Evelyn) Facette of Creighton, Saskatchewan; her sister Helen (Wendel) Koudelka of Bracken, Saskatchewan as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held from Christ the King R.C. Church at Shaunavon on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Father John Mock officiating. The ushers were Shirley Boyer and Brett Buckingham. The Cross Bearer was Renée Chelle, readers were Loraine and Mike O'Donnell and intentions were by Rachel Blyth. Gift bearers were Wade McConwell and Rachel Blyth. Paschal Candle lighter was Edme Chelle. The eulogy was presented by Michel McConwell. Renée Chelle played a violin solo, Red River Valley and read a poem she had written. Interment took place at Frenchville R.C. Cemetery. Prayer Services were held Friday, January 7, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Christ the King R.C. Church. Binkley's Funeral Service of Shaunavon (www.Binkleys.com) was in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers were Willy Edwards, Tyler Chelle, Lesley Chelle, Gregory Chelle, Curtis Glas and Ray Glas.
